BatchLine Version 3.4 introduces powerful new capabilities designed for the shop-floor to help life sciences manufacturers easily connect systems, automate data capture, and strengthen operations across GMP-regulated environments.
This latest release expands BatchLine’s enterprise integration capabilities for EBR, eLogbooks, OSI-PI, SCADA, DCS, ERP, and LIMS and extending dedicated support for pharmaceutical manufacturers in Japan through a newly enhanced Japanese language pack.
What’s new in BatchLine 3.4
1. EBR and eLogbook integration
BatchLine 3.4 enables a complete, connected package between Electronic Batch Records (EBR) and eLogbooks, allowing granular control of equipment through barcode scanning, ensuring the right equipments are used in the right batch and product, and with configurable models to handle cleanning and engineering status. Everything used in the EBR is correct, any exceptions are required to be reviewed and with complete audit trail in the both the EBR and eLogbooks.
This helps reduce manual recording, improve traceability, and provide a more connected view of production activities and equipment usage.
With increased flexibility, equipment usage can be configured to align with operational needs such as pre-checks and post-checks at different stages defined by the customer.

2. OSI-PI integration connector
Co-developed with our partner B-EN-G, BatchLine 3.4 includes a dedicated OSI-PI process historian connector for bi-directional sending and recording of time-series data from machines and devices.
This connector is designed from decades of experience in MES to control systems integration, to be powerful, yet simple and fast to deploy helping manufacturers maximise the value of their OSI-PI data and seamlessly connect their historian assets to EBR.
Key capabilities include:
- Single and multiple point value extraction, send single or mulitple data points from any PI connected equipment to a running EBR batch.
- Event Frame synchronization, query data in PI from activities and durations in the EBR to capture data against a particular operation start and end time, collect average/min/max and other data values to be seamless connected in the batch record.
- Interval-based aggregations for retrieving calculated PI summaries
3. SCADA-DCS integration connector
Building on the release of the OSI-PI interface adapter, BatchLine now supports a full bi-directional integration of MES data to and from machines and devices controlled by SCADA and DCS solutions.
This generic adapter uses web-based interfaces for fast, flexible, and cost-effective setup, enabling automatic data exchange between systems for a wide range of use cases common in the pharmaceutical, API, and biotech industries.

4. ERP and LIMS integration connector
BatchLine 3.4 also expands the ERP-related interfaces to include materials, enabling automatic synchronisation of ERP and MES masterdata, and can be applied for other systems such LIMS and to enterprise data repositories.
This enhancement supports better data consistency, reduces duplication, and helps streamline material-related processes across the digital manufacturing landscape.
5. Japanese language support
As part of a co-development with our partners B-EN-G and LSDC in Japan, BatchLine 3.4 introduces an updated Japanese language pack that translates the entire BatchLine application into Japanese.
This careful and GxP relevant translation is designed to better suit pharmaceutical manufacturers in Japan and strengthen the local usability for shop floor and facility management people.

Why it matters
BatchLine 3.4 helps manufacturers move closer to fully connected digital operations by making it easier to integrate plant systems, enterprise platforms, and operational records in one compliant MES environment.
With improved connectivity, automated data flow, and broader localisation support, BatchLine continues to make digital GMP manufacturing more practical, scalable, and accessible.
